The major part of the eighties Michael Mayer headed a work group at the Fraunhofer-Institute for Systems and Innovation Research dealing with governmental programs to support new technology-based enterprises and the related infrastructure, especially the then emerging German venture capital landscape. In 1990 founded TechnoStart, is CEO of the organisation and Managing Partner of all TechnoStart funds.
