Your Role:

  • You will be responsible for obtaining, enforcing and evaluating IP rights in close collaboration with the in-house Research & Development team and external patent attorneys.
  • This task includes patentability assessments, drafting of patent applications and responses to patent office actions.
  • You will be responsible for freedom-to-operate searches and assessments of third-party-patent rights, including IP landscapes and IP gap analyses.

Your Profile:

  • University Degree (MSc or PhD) in organic chemistry or related subject
  • Strong track record in patentability and freedom-to-operate assessments. Experience in drafting of patent applications and prosecution of IP rights is highly desirable
  • Proven knowledge and experience in international patent law (EP and US; ideally also KR, CN, JP, DE).
  • Familiar with all functions of SciFinder, patent databases (especially PatBase or similar), Microsoft Office
  • Reliable and independent working style, high willingness to perform and learn
  • Analytical thinking and the ability to structure complex scientific issues and present them in a clear and understandable manner
  • Very good oral and written communication skills. Professional English, further languages (in particular Chinese, Korean and/or Japanese) would be an advantage
  • Enjoyment of working in an international multidisciplinary team at the forefront of research
